In 2024, we helped Monkey Shoulder champion grassroot music communities by launching Studio Monkey Shoulder – a global initiative and music programme in partnership with independent radio station, Worldwide FM and its legendary founder, Gilles Peterson.

Featuring a £50k fund awarded to innovative projects in Taiwan, India, Nigeria, UK and the USA, we helped spotlight those who are pioneering in their respective music scenes, whilst offering exposure and connectivity through the platform.

The winning applicants received invaluable support from Worldwide FM, Gilles and Monkey Shoulder. By collaborating on project development, production assistance, content creation and creative inspiration, it all culminated in a global broadcast where Worldwide FM showcases these innovative grassroots projects on air, with winners interviewed by Gilles Peterson.

Studio Monkey Shoulder’s ambition is to serve as a long-term, credible global music platform with the support of Worldwide FM and Gilles Peterson’s legacy and expertise in the music industry.
