April Fools is arguably the most congested day of the year for brands on social, so Travelodge wanted to launch an activation which really cut through.
So, as part of our always-on social content, we launched the ‘Travelodge Tuck-In’ service, where guests staying on April 1st could receive a cuddly toy, bedtime story, and tea in bed, before being tucked in to sleep.
We shot an original video asset on location which showed the various perks of the service, and then used live community management on the day to engage with customers and fans commenting on the post.
With over 250,000 people reached in a morning, and over 200 positive comments driven through careful community management, we were able to continue to drive positive sentiment for the brand on social media.
