THE CHALLENGE

The instant noodle market is rapidly expanding, with several brands launching their own ranges of four-minute meals in a pot. How do we keep Pot Noodle at the front of consumer’s minds with no new news?

THE BRIEF
Activate a creative and ownable idea to secure national coverage and social buzz for Pot Noodle.

THE SOLUTION
Timed to coincide with National Chocolate Week, we developed the very first sweet Pot Noodle, and announced a trial launch. We secured the help of master chocolatier Paul A Young to advise on the creation of this culinary masterpiece. The final recipe combined delicious chocolate noodles topped with maple pecans, all-butter fudge and chocolate chips. We created Pot Noodle packaging to suit and delivered exclusive samples to top media and influencers for review. We shared the news on Twitter using #ChocNoodle and ran a competition to win a pot.

 

THE OUTCOME

Like the Choc Noodle itself, press, TV and consumers found the story irresistible. 54 pieces of coverage with an OTS of over 123 million. Four national news pieces. A five minute segment on The Wright Stuff. 9 million Twitter impressions of #ChocNoodle.
